Niagara Falls Man Arrested for Speeding, Stunt Driving

Driver caught traveling at 80 km/h in a 40 km/h zone

A Niagara Falls resident is facing speeding and stunt driving charges.

At 11:47 p.m. on April 9th, a Niagara Parks Police officer spotted a black pickup truck speeding on Niagara Parkway near Clifton Hill.

The driver was clocked at 80 km/h in a 40 km/h zone.

Police say as the officer tried to catch up, the truck started weaving in and out of traffic, changed lanes rapidly and in some cases, caused other vehicles to slam on the brakes in order to avoid a crash.

A traffic stop was conducted, and the 18 year old driver was charged with the following offences:

  • Drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - speeding by 40 or more km/hr in a zone that is less than 80 km/h, H.T.A. s. 172(1)
  • Speeding 82 km/h in a posted 40 km/h zone, H.T.A. s. 128

A thirty day license suspension was issued, and the truck was impounded for 14 days.
