On June 9th, Niagara Falls Comic Con team up with Trailer Park Boys, to help focus on PTSD

Niagara Falls Comic Con is right around the corner, and the City is rolling out the red carpet for the Trailer Park Boys.

June 9th, which is the first day of Comic Con, will also be Trailer Park Boys Day in Niagara Falls.

Throughout the day, a number of special events are taking place, with a focus on PTSD and mental health.

"Knowing the Trailer Park Boys, through initiatives like Cracked Armour, they like to raise awareness and funds for mental health and PTSD", says Comic Con organizer Chris Dabrowski. "So it was a win-win for us. We approached the boys with the idea to mark Trailer Park Boys Day in Niagara Falls on June 9th, and they were all for it."

There will be a special flag raising, and the Falls will light up in green that night, which is the international colour of mental health awareness.

As well, the public is also invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9th, to officially start Comic Con.

Mayor Jim Diodati will be in attendance, and will make a special presentation to the Trailer Park Boys.

The Trailer Park Boys - Robb Wells, Mike Smith and John Paul Tremblay, will be among the over 45 celebrities appearing at this year's event.

Other celebrities include former wrestlers Ric Flair, Bret Hart and Trish Stratus, actor Giancarlo Esposito of "Breaking Bad" and "The Mandalorian", and actor Kane Hodder, who played Jason Voorhies in the "Friday the 13th" movies.

Dabrowski says there will be something for everyone this year.

"There's Q&A panels, attractions, celebrities, artists, movie props, memorabilia, you name it, Comic Con has got it."

Niagara Falls Comic Con will take place June 9th-11th at the Niagara Falls Convention Centre.
