Niagara Facilities Reopening on Monday

City officials in several municipalities release details about the re-opening of several facilities on Monday.

With the province easing COVID-19 restrictions on Monday, officials in several Niagara municipalities have announced some changes. 

Officials say in St. Catharines, City Hall will open by appointment on Monday. 

Reservations will be required for drop-in style recreational and older adult programming. 

As well, the following will be open at 50 percent capacity:

• St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre
• St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre
• Older Adult Centres
• Arenas
• Russell Avenue and Port Weller Community Centres

In Welland, the Welland Community Wellness Complex will bring back drop in programs and swimming lessons the week of January 31st. 

Classes will resume the week of February 13th. 

In Niagara Falls, City Hall and the MacBain Community Centre Customer Service desk will be open for bill payment. 

An appointment isn't needed, but proof of vaccination will be required. 

The following facilities will also re-open. 

• Gale Centre Arena: will be open from 6:30 AM - midnight for ice bookings and recreational skates. Skates can be booked here. The indoor walking track will also be open Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., and while visitors will need to check-in, reservations are not required. 
• MacBain Community Centre indoor walking track: sessions available each hour between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Reservations can be made here.

As well, the Niagara Falls History Museum will re-open on Thursday, February 3rd. 

The museum will be open on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

In Pelham, the following facilities will re-open on Monday: 

• Meridian Community Centre at 7:00 a.m. All visitors will need to be screened upon entry and anyone 12 and older will require proof of vaccination or medical exemption. 
• Pelham Public libraries
• Town of Pelham municipal building will be open by appointment only. Town staff are available to assist the public Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
