Niagara College President Dan Patterson Honoured by Niagara Falls City Council

It was a great day for Niagara College President Dan Patterson.

He was honoured at last night's Niagara Falls City Council meeting, for his 25 years on the job.

Patterson says college has always had a great relationship with the City of Niagara Falls.

"We work very closely with the Niagara Falls community and employers to make sure that our students get great job opportunities and that they're job ready. It's a very synergistic relationship between the college and the community."

Mayor Jim Diodati gave Patterson an early retirement gift, a picture of the Horseshoe Falls.

Earlier in the day, Niagara College topped a list of Canada's Top 50 Research Colleges, complied by Research Infosource.

"It's a recognition that applied research, the notion of working with small and medium sized companies to be part of their research and development to develop new products and improve their processes, that we're the go-to person in Niagara to get those services."

Patterson will officially step down as Niagara College President on June 30, 2020.
