Niagara Catholic Confirms Two Outbreaks and End of Another

The Niagara Catholic District School board is reporting two outbreaks of COVID-19 at elementary schools.

The outbreaks have been declared at Canadian Martyrs in St. Catharines and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic in the Falls. 

In each case, Public Health confirmed a second case that was linked to the first individual. 

The outbreak at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Elementary School in St. Catharines has been declared over. 

The board also confirms cases at several other schools. 

Both Our Lady of Victory Catholic Elementary School in Fort Erie and Loretto Catholic Elementary School in the Falls have two cases each. 

Neither of these schools currently meet the criteria for an outbreak. 

Four more schools are reporting individual cases: St. Mary Catholic Elementary School in Niagara Falls, Saint Michael Catholic High School in Niagara Falls, Denis Morris Catholic High School in St. Catharines and Notre Dame College School in Welland. 

The individuals at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Our Lady of Victory and Canadian Martyrs Catholic elementary schools are currently in self-isolation, 
as are their affected classrooms.
