Mainly impact children aged 5 to 11
Today is the day travel rules ease for children and those who are fully vaccinated at the border
The main change involves children 5 to 11 who are accompanied by a fully vaccinated parent or guardian will no longer have to complete a pre entry COVID 19 test to get into Canada.
As well, international travellers who are fully vaccinated, aged 5-11 or have a medical exemption will no longer have to present a quarantine plan upon arrival.
And finally fully vaccinated Canadians will not be federally required to mask up in public spaces for 14 days following their return from another country.
Canada is also cutting the requirement for travellers to quarantine if another person in the same group develops COVID symptoms upon their return.
Last week the Biden Administration extended the vaccination requirement for non-US citizens crossing land or ferry terminals at the borders with Canada and Mexico.
No timeline was given for the extension.
