Motorcyclist Fined for Laying Rubber in Intersection

Niagara police officer praised by passing motorists for ticketing motorcycle rider

A Niagara regional police officer is receiving public praise for ticketing a motorcycle driver after an intersection was filled with smoke from squealing tires.

Police tweeted the driver, with a passenger on board, was stopped at a red light, and began burning rubber by squealing the tires back and forth.

The officer charged the driver with 3-highway traffic offences, and one insurance offence.

And, while the tickets were being issued, passing drivers honked and gave the officer the thumbs up.

Police have not said which intersection it was.
