McHappy Day is Tomorrow

Tomorrow, a portion of the sales from all McDonald's menu items will benefit Ronald McDonald House and other local children's charities across Canada

Niagara residents who want to enjoy a burger tomorrow will also have a chance to help a good cause.

Tomorrow is McHappy Day, and ten percent of the sales of all items at McDonalds restaurants will benefit Ronald McDonald House and local children's charities across Canada.

Throughout Canada, Ronald McDonald House helps families with sick children stay close while kids are at the hospital.

We spoke to Anne Molnar, the Community Relations Representative for McDonald's locations in Fonthill, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Port Colborne and Welland.

"It's a busy day, especially during the dinner hours," she says. "We have record breaking sales every year, and so we hope that this year, the community comes out and supports Ronald McDonald House and the charities that McDonalds supports."

Molnar says her locations will support Ronald McDonald House Charities located in Hamilton, due to the support it gives families here in Niagara.

"We've chosen to focus our attention on the Ronald McDonald House that will help support the families from our region, because over 30 percent of the families that stay at Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton come from the Niagara region," she says.  "It helps keep parents and families closer at a time of need and make it more affordable to stay close to their kids.

You can support the cause by donating or placing an order here, or by heading to your nearest McDonalds.

You can also purchase McHappy Day socks on the McDonald's app or at participating restaurants
