Update:  Friday, September 8th, 12p.m.

The suspect wanted for the murder of a man in Niagara Falls has turned himself in.

Regional police say 31-year old Devon Keneer of Kitchener showed up at police headquarters in Niagara Falls last night, and was placed under arrest.

He's been charged with 2nd degree murder, and has a video bail hearing today in St. Catharines.

Police also want to acknowledge the public and media for assistance in this case.

Earlier version of story:

Niagara police are looking for a suspect, pictured, wanted for 2nd degree murder after another man was stabbed to death on Victoria Avenue in Niagara Falls.

Police were called to the area near Morrison Street around 3, Wednesday morning, to find the injured man, who later died in hospital.

Police say there was a fight within a group of three people, which led to the stabbing.  The victim was left on the ground, and a knife was also recovered by police.

Detectives add they believe the suspect may have suffered an injury to his head and his hand during the altercation with the victim, and police encourage him to seek legal council and turn himself in.  They're also asking for anyone who knows the identity of the suspect to call police.

The suspect was last seen near Morrison Street and 1st Avenue, and investigators think he may live in the area.

Officers believe this was a targeted incident, and therefore there is no threat to public safety.

Victoria Avenue was closed for part of the day, but has since been re-opened.
