We're continuing to profile the candidates running for election in the Niagara Falls riding. Today we spoke with Conservative candidate Tony Baldinelli.

Tony Baldinelli is once again running for election in the Niagara Falls riding for the Conservatives.

Before being elected as MP in the 2019 federal election, he spent 18 years working with the Niagara Parks Commission, and became the Senior Manager of Communications and Stakeholder Relations.

He initially got involved with politics in 1988, when he worked on Parliament Hill as the Legislative Assistant to then Niagara Falls MP Rob Nicholson.

Baldinelli says pandemic recovery is one of the key issues on voters' minds as they head to the ballot box.

"Ultimately, the election is about how we get Canada back on its feet, and rebuild our economy and our way of life.

He also says helping Niagara's tourism sector is vital for the local economy.

"We've got to remember, Niagara's tourism economy supports over 40,000 workers. We are the largest tourism leisure destination in all of Canada. And we generate over $2.4 billion just here in Niagara in tourism receipts alone.

Baldinelli is running in Niagara Falls against Brian Barker of the NDP, Liberal candidate Andrea Kaiser, Melanie Holm from the Green Party, and People's Party of Canada candidate Peter Taras.
