Grimsby Man Charged After Brawl on "Beach Day"

A 16 year old was hospitalized after a fight at Sunset Beach

One person is facing charges after a large brawl on Sunset Beach in St. Catharines. 

On Friday, over 1,800 secondary school students were celebrating "Beach Day", an unofficial day off from school that takes place on the first Friday in June.

Police say a 16 year old boy was hospitalized after a large fight broke out. 

He has since been released. 

Eighteen year old Noah Ciccone of Grimsby was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm. 

He has been released from custody, and a court date has been set.

Police also say there were several other issues at Sunset Beach that day, including motor vehicle collision, underage drinking, drug consumption and multiple fights.
