Former Supermodel Linda Evangelista Files Lawsuit Over Botched Cosmetic Procedures

Evangelista is seeking $50 million in damages for lost income and emotional distress, saying she was now unemployable as a model and has not earned anything from modeling since 2016.

Canadian model Linda Evangelista says she has taken steps to right a wrong she has kept to herself for several years.

In an Instagram post, the St. Catharines native says she has been permanently disfigured after undergoing a fat reduction procedure five years ago.

Evangelista says she has suffered financially and psychologically by Zeltiq's CoolSculpting procedure, a non-surgical body-shaping technique that uses cold temperatures to break down fat cells in certain parts of the body.

She claims the procedure did the complete opposite and has launched a $50 million dollar lawsuit against the company.

The former super model says she suffered from a rare side-effect known as P-A-H (paradoxical adipose hyperplasia), in which the fatty tissue grows rather than shrinks.

She says P-A-H has sent her into a deep cycle of depression, profound sadness, and to the lowest depths of self loathing and is moving ahead with the lawsuit to rid herself of shame and to be able to walk out the front door with her head held high even though she doesn't look like herself anymore.
