Former councilor Harold Jonker has turned himself in after Ottawa Police issued arrest warrant

Former West Lincoln Councilor Harold Jonker is facing charges in connection with last year's "Freedom Convoy" demonstrations in Ottawa.

Jonker, who owns Jonker Trucking, turned himself into police on Saturday, and faces four charges, including mischief obstruct property, and intimidation by blocking or obstructing highway.

He has also been charged with two counts of counseling an indictable offence.

He posted video footage taken outside the Grimsby police station on YouTube, thanking his family and supporters.

"It's kind of been an emotional week. Finding out from a police officer in Niagara that the Ottawa Police had put out a warrant for my arrest for my involvement in a beautiful, peaceful, wonderful convoy that gave so many Canadians hope and joy."

On May 10th, he'll appear in an Ottawa court to answer to the charges.
