Eighty Percent of Eligible Ontarians Have At Least First Dose

An important vaccination milestone for the province has been reached.

In a Tweet, Health Minister Christine Elliott says over 80 percent of eligible Ontarians have received their first COVID-19 shot.

This means the province has met one of the conditions for advancing past Step Three of the re-opening plan.

Before the province can move forward, at least 75 percent of residents 12 and older need to be fully immunized, and no public health unit can have under 70 percent of residents fully vaccinated.

As well, other key indicators need to remain stable.
