UPDATE: Another Niagara School Board Cancels International Field Trip Due to Coronavirus Concerns

UPDATE: The Niagara Catholic District School Board has also decided to cancel a trip to Europe.

About 50 students were supposed to visit Italy, Spain and France over the March Break.

Director of Education John Crocco says a Level Two travel advisory is in effect for Italy, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

He says the board decided to call off the trip, adding the safety of their staff and students is paramount.

The Niagara Catholic District School Board also has a trip to France coming up in May for Victory Day.

Crocco says the board is monitoring the situation, and the fate of that trip will be determined in April.

A handful of high school students in Niagara Falls, will not be going away over the March Break.

The District School Board of Niagara has decided to cancel two international field trips to Europe; affecting 14 students from A.N. Myer Secondary School and four students from Stamford Collegiate.

They were supposed to visit several countries; including Italy, France and Germany.

The DSBN decided to cancel the trips due to coronavirus concerns.

Students with travel insurance will get able to get their money back.
