Downtown Niagara Falls BIA and City of St. Catharines Receive Grant to Assist Small Businesses with Digital Needs

Grants will provide trained digital specialists to help local small businesses adopt online strategies.

The Downtown Niagara Falls BIA (NFBIA) and the City of St. Catharines have received grants from Digital Main Street's Ontario Grants program to help local small businesses digitally transform their sales, marketing and back office operations.

The NFBIA received $24,000, and the City of St. Catharines received over $83,000.

The initiative will send trained specialists to local small businesses and provide support in areas such as social media presence and website set-up.

"We are thrilled to be able to assist our members’ digital presence, and that’s in thanks to the Digital Main Street program," said Amanda MacDonald, Executive Director for the Niagara Falls Downtown BIA. "Our service squad members will also be available to help local retailers access online services and create digital plans to serve the Niagara community better. This grant showcases the provincial government’s commitment to bringing our local businesses back to the forefront."

Businesses also have a chance to receive $2,500 Digital Transformation grants.

Grant applications are now open, and applications are being accepted here
