Canada Day Closures and Events in Niagara

Municipal offices and more closed this long weekend

Canada Day is right around the corner!

In Pelham, the Grande Parade will take place this Saturday, traveling down Haist Street from A.K. Wigg School to the Harold Black Park.

As well, municipal offices and the Meridian Centre will be closed.

In Niagara-on-the-Lake, administration buildings will be closed on Saturday, as well as the Niagara-on-the-Lake Community Centre and the Public Library.

Municipal offices will also be closed in Port Colborne.

As well, a Canada Day celebration will take place at H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park in Port Colborne from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

In Niagara Falls, an event will be held at Firemen's Park from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a Kids Zone stage, live music and more.

A free concert is taking place at Lakeside Park in St. Catharines.

In Welland, there will be activities at Merritt Park.

Lincoln will host its annual Canada Day Festival at Charles Daley Park.

If you're in Thorold, there will be festivities at Battle of Beaverdams Park.

In Niagara-on-the-Lake, there will be entertainment at Simcoe Park.

There's also several activities at Leisureplex Township Park in West Lincoln and at the Grimsby Museum.

If you need to get around, Niagara Region Transit busses will operate on a holiday schedule, but the St. Catharines and Welland terminals will be closed.

And on Monday, banks, government offices and post offices will be closed, as well as local community centre.

However, there won't be any changes to recycling or garbage collection across the region.
