22 New COVID-19 Cases in Niagara

There's a decrease in the number of new local COVID-19 cases.

Niagara Public Health is reporting 22 new cases today after a total of 99 new cases were reported between yesterday and Tuesday. 

The death toll remains at 373, and there are 9 people with the virus in local hospitals. 

The region has 297 active cases and 23 active outbreaks. 

To date, there are four confirmed cases with the variant that was first discovered in the UK, and 172 more cases are under investigation for variants. 

St. Catharines has the most active cases with 56, followed by 52 in Niagara Falls and 53 in Welland. 

The province is reporting 1553 new cases of the virus and 15 more deaths. 

Toronto has 404 new cases, Peel has 294, and York Region has 176. 

Over 1.3 million vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario.
