Lake Ontario’s water levels have been dropping about a centimetre a day.
According to the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, it’s currently sitting at just over 75 metres.
This is 19 centimetres below the record high that was set back in June, but still 77 centimetres above average.
Meanwhile Lake Erie is just over 175 metres, which 79 centimetres above average. It’s also 9 centimetres above the record high, which was set back in 1986.
NPCA officials say the levels will continue to decline, but they will probably remain above average for foreseeable future.
