Wainfleet Dog Tests Positive for Rabies

A dog has tested positive for rabies in Wainfleet.

Officials at Niagara Region Public Health are investigating all possible exposures.

They are encouraging all pet owners to make sure their animals are up to date on their vaccinations and to keep a close eye on their furry friends at all times.

Contact your local humane society if you spot any wild animals acting strange; especially raccoons.

According to Niagara Region Public Health, so far one dog and one bat have tested positive for rabies in 2019. 

A total of 19 animals tested positive for rabies last year. This includes 10 raccoons, seven skunks, and two bats.
