Taking Care of the Goose Problem in Welland

June 17, 2019

By: Marcie Culbert

The City of Welland is spending more than $15,000 to clear out the docks and for wildlife control.

They have hired the Wildlife Management Group, to clear the geese away from the International Flatwater Centre.

Officials are using bird calls to prevent them from nesting in the area. Geese can be very aggressive around their young.

The average goose also defecates at least 1 kilogram per day.
