A City Councillor would like to make Niagara Falls Naloxone Ready.
Lori Lococo says she learned a lot about it, while attending the AMO Conference in Ottawa last month.
Being a Naloxone Ready Community, means having naloxone kits readily available at city facilities.
City staff would also receive the proper training, so they know how to use the kits in the event of an overdose.
Council directed staff to look into the matter at their meeting last night. A report will be brought back at a future date.
Lococo says the Niagara Region has the second highest overdose rate in Ontario, right behind Brantford.
