They followed in her footsteps, more than 200 years later.
The annual Laura Secord Walk brought in $10,000.
About 100 people turned out Saturday for the walk from Queenston to Thorold.
The funds raised go to War Child Canada. The organization supports children affected by war and violence by giving them access to opportunity, education and justice.
Niagara-on-the-Lake Lord Mayor Betty Disero led the walk, alongside Great Trail Chair Valerie Pringle.
