A winter storm warning is in effect for parts of Western New York, including Buffalo.
The National Weather Service says the area can expect heavy snow this afternoon, with about 1 to 2 inches an hour expected.
Drivers are warned that visibility could be very low, and roads will likely be slippery.
Motorists are advised to give themselves extra time to reach their destination.
