Provincial government helping by adding 128 more spaces, with updated features for seniors
An additional 128 long-term care beds have been added to a redeveloped Foyer Richelieu in Welland.
Niagara West MPP Sam Oosterhoff made the announcement with his colleagues last week, the government saying it'll add 66 new and 62 upgraded beds, and is now accepting its first residents.
The new building is designed around four Resident Home Areas, for up to 32 people with their own dining and activity areas, lounges, and bedrooms.
The new home enhances resident spaces, including a bistro, beauty salon and social room.
The government adds the redevelopment was enabled by the province's Not-for-Profit Loan Guarantee Program, meant to help not-for-profits that are having difficulty securing development loans.
