Gates will seek another term in next year's provincial election.
Incumbent Niagara Falls MPP Wayne Gates will run for re-election next year.
During a virtual meeting last night, Gates was officially named as the party's candidate for the 2022 provincial election.
"From the union hall to Queen’s Park, Wayne has always fought to make the lives of working people better," notes NDP Leader Andrea Horwath. "Wayne has been fighting, throughout the pandemic, to make sure the voices of workers, families and small businesses in Niagara Falls were heard loud and clear."
Since 2014, he has represented Niagara Falls, Fort Erie and Niagara-on-the-Lake at Queen's Park.
Gates serves as the party's critic for Workplace Health and Safety, Training, Trades and Apprenticeships, and Auto Strategy.
