They say someone claims to have been confronted by officers
Provincial police are confirming an online video about officers interacting with an individual is not true, it did not happen.
They say it shows an individual claiming to be confronted by police, and the beginning features a brief clip of OPP officers.
Police add the video has been fabricated by manipulating two unrelated videos.
They say the officers in the video did not speak to someone finishing lawn care-the-event described in the video.
Police say this type of video can fuel public hostility, heightens risk to officer safety, and undermines community trust.
They're also thanking those who brought it to the OPPs attention.
