Twenty-four year old Steve Nkusi was last seen swimming on Saturday at Sunset Beach.
The family of a man who represented Canada in high jump at the 2015 Junior Pan American Games says his body has been pulled out of Lake Ontario.
CBC Hamilton says the family has confirmed the body of Steve Nkusi was found yesterday.
Meanwhile, Niagara Regional Police Service notes while a man's body was found in Lake Ontario near the Welland Canal yesterday, they're awaiting word on his identity from the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto.
"The identity of the body recovered by our Marine Unit could not be positively identified by our detectives and the Coroner" Constable Phil Gavin tells us in an email.
Detectives say the investigation continues.
Nkusi's family says the athlete, who recently graduated from University of Ottawa with a finance degree, disappeared on Saturday at Sunset Beach after jumping into Lake Ontario for a swim.
