It is official, the announcement last night from Donald Trump.
"In order to make America great and glorious again, I am, tonight, announcing my candidacy for President of the United States."
The former president will go for a third attempt at the job, speaking at his Florida golf club.
He promised to tackle what he says is the surge of crime in the country and open border policy of the current government, which he says has opened the door to vicious gangs like MS13.
Trump also called on builders, entrepreneurs, teachers and police officers, who he says can't stay quiet anymore. "The police are being treated so badly. These are great people that can straighten out the crime, they're the ones who know how to do it. We have to give them back their respect and their dignity."
The former president called out what he called the corruption that has put the country in grave condition.
Many of his long-time supporters were not there last night, including his daughter Ivanka, who released a statement saying she does not plan to be involved in his campaign.
