The count provides a snapshot of homelessness on a single night in Niagara
Regional staff with help from partnering agencies will fan out across the region, to find out how many sheltered and unsheltered people are experiencing homelessness.
The region's Homelessness Services Director Cathy Cousins says "it’s important to conduct the Count, perhaps even more so this year because we want to know how COVID-19 has impacted individuals experiencing homelessness so local responses can be developed moving forward"
The Count will also show where progress has been made and where improvements can be made to the region’s homeless response system.
