It looks like a nine-year-old boy from Thorold will be able to go trick-or-treating after all.
Carter Dery was born with a rare genetic condition, and he was heartbroken when he found out that he has to go in for his 16th surgery this Thursday, which also happens to be Halloween.
Local residents will be handing out candy at trunk-or-treat event on Wednesday at Club Capri from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Dery will be dressing up as a Tiger-Cats football player and he’s planning on sharing his candy with other kids at McMaster Children’s Hospital.
