Gauging public opinion on voting methods and sidewalk snow clearing
In the first survey, the city wants to hear from local residents about whether Niagara Falls is in need of a sidewalk snow clearing bylaw.
Among the questions, the survey asks if residents want to maintain the status quo on sidewalk clearing in the winter, or whether council should pass a Good Neighbour bylaw requiring private property owners to clear snow and ice from the sidewalks in front of their properties within 24 hours of a snow event.
In a second survey, the city asks "How would you like to vote?"
The city wants input on a variety of different voting methods including voting by mail, by phone or online ahead of the October 24th municipal election.
