The eight girls are charged after homeless man stabbed in Toronto
Bail hearing dates are expected to be set today for eight teenage girls accused of swarming and fatally stabbing a 59-year-old homeless man in downtown Toronto last month.
The three 13-year-olds, three 14-year-olds, and two 16-year-olds are all charged with second-degree murder.
During a brief court appearance last week, a lawyer for one of the girls requested Crown lawyers disclose a video of the alleged attack posted on the popular online video platform TikTok.
The identities of the accused, who police said congregated after meeting on social media, cannot be released due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
