Teens Arrested in St. Catharines Break and Enter, Stabbing

Three teenagers have been arrested after a break and enter in St. Catharines.

Just before 3:40 on Wednesday morning, police were called to a home in the area of Sherman Drive and Overholt Street.

A man in his thirties was found suffering from stab wounds.

The victim had discovered three males in his vehicle in his driveway around 3:30, and chased the suspects as they ran away.

An altercation occurred when the victim caught one of the suspects after a short distance.

When the victim attempted to perform a citizen's arrest, he was stabbed, and the suspect fleed on foot.

The victim was by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries, and taken to hospital for further treatment.

Investigators were led to believe the same suspects were involved at another break and enter on Sherman Drive.

As a result, the trio were identified.

The three suspects - a 14, 15 and 16 year old from St. Catharines - turned themselves into police.

The 15 year old was charged with assault with a weapon, and all three received theft and break and enter related charges.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the case to call them at 905-688-4111, extension 1009482.
