A suspect has been arrested in connection with a Thorold investigation.
On Saturday, police were called to a home on Martin Street near Beaverdams Road to conduct a welfare check.
Officers were unable to locate the man, but the investigation led police to believe a crime had occurred.
45 year old Steven Christopher Lepera of Thorold was arrested yesterday on weapon-related charges.

Officers were called to a home on Martin Street Saturday evening around 7:00 after someone called to say they were concerned for the welfare of a man living at the residence.
When officers arrived they were not able to locate the male.
A search of several locations throughout the evening led police to suspect a crime may have been committed.
Police say they are looking for Lepera on charges of careless storage of a firearm and careless storage of ammunition.
The NRP believe he is still in Niagara.
He is described as a white male, about 6 foot 3, bald with brown eyes and numerous tattoos.
