A pet store in Niagara is receiving some recognition.
The Niagara Poverty Reduction Network has announced that Little Chief & Co. has become a Champion level certified living wage employer.
The store currently has one full time staff member.
In Niagara, $18.12 an hour is considered a living wage.
However, employers with compensation packages that include medical and dental benefits can become certified living wage employers with salaries below that amount.
