Homeowners in St. Catharines can now apply for some financial relief if they have been struggling during the pandemic.
City Council has given the green light to a new Property Tax and Interest Relief Program.
Those who successfully apply will not have to worry about late payment penalties or interest charges until the end of November.
All applicants must provide proof that they have been experiencing financial hardships over the past few months.
Manager of Revenue Lisa Read says it will give them more time to pay their taxes.
