St. Catharines Adds EVs to its Fleet

The vehicles were not paid for with tax money, and will enable officers to work more from vehicle

More electric vehicles being added to the City of St. Catharines fleet.

The city says By-law Services is the first division to fully convert to all EVs, in buying seven new vehicles, paid for by the Administrative Monetary Penalty System, and not property taxes.

The 2025 Chevy Equinox's have all the latest techno gadgets enabling officers to work from the vehicle without returning to the office

The vehicles also help residents deal directly with the officers in the cars, instead of leaving messages at city hall.

The city adds the vehicles help reduce emissions, ultimately reaching net zero by 2050.
