Doug Ford's "Get it Done" act among items on the spring agenda
The next session at Queen’s Park is set to begin today.
The Ford government is expected to introduce the "Get it Done Act" which among other things will ban tolls on provincial highways, however those that already exist like the ones on the 407 will remain in place.
The government also plans to make license plate renewals automatic, extend the freeze on driver’s license fees and streamline the environmental assessment process for new development.
Other items expected, repealing an unconstitutional wage restraint law and enacting a reversal of a decision to dissolve Peel Region.
The province's colleges and universities minister is also expected to announce the government's plan to address the financial struggles of the post-secondary institutions early in the session.
Colleges and universities have been grappling with frozen tuition-fee revenues and low levels of operating funding from the government, but they're also now facing a loss of revenue from international students with news of a federal cap on visas.
