The SIU is no longer investigating an arrest in Niagara Falls.
A 30-year-old man was taken into custody on Sunday night and he became aggressive during the booking process at the police station.
He hit his head while be was being grounded by police and he also fell and hit his head off a wall while he was in a cell.
The man had to get stitches above his left eye and he fractured a cheek bone.
SIU Director Joseph Martino does not consider the cut above his eye to be a serious injury.
He also says the man likely fractured his zygomatic arch while he was being grounded or when he fell in the cell.
The man had been arrested for allegedly drinking in his vehicle outside a local motel.
