Ontario's Special Investigation's Unit is investigating the death of a man armed with a knife in St. Catharines
A man with a knife is dead following a standoff with Niagara Regional Police.
Crisis negotiators had to be called to a residence in the area of Russell Avenue and Lake Street in St. Catharines after reports of a man in crisis yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
Police were engaged by the man as negotiations continued until early evening.
The injured male was transported to hospital where he later died.
Police are not releasing any more details at the moment as the incident is being investigated by Ontario's Special Investigations Unit.
