OPP have arrested 28 people connected to an auto theft network.
The investigation into hundreds of stolen vehicles began in September 2020.
Detectives say three criminal organizations fraudulently modified vehicle identification numbers of over 200 stolen cars, and later sold them through private sales in Ontario.
Currently, 214 cars values at over $12 million have been recovered.
Over 240 charges have been laid against 28 people, including an unspecified number of ServiceOntario employees.
Of those charged, 26 are from Ontario, including suspects from Toronto, Stoney Creek, Kitchener, Caledon, Bradford and Gravenhurst.
The other two suspects are from Saskatchewan.
Charges laid include fraud over $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and trafficking in property obtained by crime.
