Police made the checks Friday night in Fort Erie and Niagara-on-the-Lake
Three people have been arrested after RIDE checks Friday night in Fort Erie and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Officers stopped roughly 420 vehicles, and had ten drivers provide breathe samples, while another was asked to perform sobriety field tests on the roadside.
Another driver had a breath sample resulting in Alert, that led to a three day licence suspension.
Police add nine other tickets were given out for other various offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
Police say impaired driving is still the leading criminal offence causing death in Canada.
