US midterm election close in many races, House likely going Republican, Senate virtually tied
The red wave Republicans were expecting in the US midterm election did not materialize as they hoped.
Complete results will not be known for some time, but control of the House is leaning towards the Republicans, but the Senate is virtually tied.
Looking at the Governor races surrounding Ontario, Democrat Kathy Hochul wins re-election for governor in New York, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has won a second four-year term, defeating Republican challenger Tudor Dixon. Democrat Josh Shapiro took the top job in Pennsylvania, and Republican Mike DeWine is back for another term in Ohio.
Elsewhere, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has won a decisive re-election victory, Sarah Sanders wins for the Republicans in Arkansas, while in Arizona, the Governorship went to the Democrats.
In other closely watched races, Democrat John Fetterman has beaten Republican Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania, and over in Georgia, Democrat Raphael Warnock still has a slight lead over Republican Herschel Walker.
