Niagara Region is looking for residents interested in joining the recently approved Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Committee.
The role of the committee will be to help make the region more diverse and welcoming.
Members will work with the community as well as Regional and municipal staff to provide recommendations that address issues such as bias, discrimination and racism, while promoting understanding and inclusion.
The group will be comprised of ten local citizens and one Regional Councillor.
The region is especially seeking residents who represent the increasing racial, cultural, sexual and spiritual diversity in the area.
