You can now leave up to five bags of yard waste at the curb for pickup.
The Region is increasing the limit for single family homes and small apartment buildings starting today.
Ripped leaf and yard waste bags will not be collected.
Spring branch collection is also underway until May 29th.
They can be left at the curb on your regular collection day, but they must be tied with string or twine and not exceed the following size requirements;
- Maximum weight of 22.7 kg (50 lbs)
- Maximum size of 1.5 m (5 ft) in length and 0.5 m (1.6 ft) in diameter
- The branches inside the bundle must not exceed 7 cm (2.8 inches) in diameter
Other changes to curbside collection remain in effect due to COVID-19.
Large household item pickup has been suspended until May 30th.
Residents can bring their large items to the landfill themselves, but they will have to provide their address to see if they’re eligible.
