That's $11.7-million over the next three years for emergency homeless shelters in Niagara.
The Region's Public Health and Social Services Committee approved the funding yesterday.
It will be divided amongst nine local organizations;
- YWCA Niagara Region ($4,202,400)
- Southridge Community Church ($2,577,000)
- The Hope Centre ($1,116,000)
- The Salvation Army Booth Centre ($1,050,000)
- Start Me Up Niagara ($966,750)
- The RAFT ($583,434)
- Boys and Girls Club of Niagara ($403,200)
- Matthew House Refugee Ministry of Fort Erie ($403,200)
- Casa El Norte Refugee Assistance Program ($403,200)
The committee has also set aside an additional $250,000 just in case adjustments need to be made.
