Province asking seniors in hospitals to agree to move to next available long term care home placement
The province's Minister of Long Term Care, Dr. Merrilee Fullerton says the third wave of the virus is putting unprecedented pressure on our hospital's requiring immediate action.
As a result she says the government is making changes to encourage those waiting in hospital for a long term care home placement to accept a placement in a home that may not be their preferred choice.
The minister says the province will waive co payments for these patients until they can be transferred to the home of their choice.
And she adds patients who agree will still maintain priority status on the waitlist for their preferred home.
