The $1.6-million investment is to help growers ensure their products are front and centre in a store
An investment of up to $1.6-million over 4-years by the provincial government to help local fruit growers display their product front and centre.
The money will help growers buy display bins that are branded with the Foodland Ontario logo, enabling shoppers to easily identify locally grown food in stores.
Matthew Ecker is the VP of Sales and Marketing at Vineland Growers Coop, and says this marketing campaign is essential for Ontario growers to have shelf space that is front and centre for retailers.
Vineland Growers is the longest continually run coop in the province.
The Ontario government adds this initiative will help increase consumption of locally grown food by 30% by 2032.
