The province has approved a $5.6-million addition for Forestview Public School in Niagara Falls.
The Ministry of Education will cover most of it, to the tune of $4.6-million.
The District School Board of Niagara will pay the remaining $1-million.
The expansion will include 184 additional elementary spaces, a new gym and a retrofit of three child care rooms.
DSBN Chair Sue Bartlett says Forestview needs the extra space, with more than 700 students currently enrolled.
